Laurence Jourdan’s documentary, which lasts 52 minutes, was released in 2004 and based on reports of Westerner diplomats of the Ottoman Empire and interviews with the survivors of the Genocide. In this documentary; “Der Erste Völkermord de 20. Jahrhunderts” (The First Genocide of the 20th Century), the intentions of Enver Pasha, Talat Pasha and Cemal Pasha and the Ottoman records documenting their decisions are being revealed. Also the testimonies of that period’s Consul of Germany in Aleppo, Walter Kössler; Consul of America in Harput, Leslie Davis; American Ambassador in İstanbul, Henri Margenthau; Germany Ambassador in Istanbul, Konrad von Wangenheim and his predecessor Wolf Metternich are of critical importance.
